The anatomy of a hanzi practice sheet
Every row of the sheet answers three questions about a character: what does it mean (English gloss), how is it pronounced (pinyin or zhuyin label), and how is it built (the stroke-order strip — a row of mini diagrams showing the character one stroke at a time, newest stroke in red). Then come the cells: one dark model, several light-gray tracing copies, and blank grids for unaided attempts. Coverage you can paste against
The generator resolves over 11,000 common words with pinyin and meanings, and holds stroke data for roughly 6,500 simplified characters plus their traditional counterparts — everything in HSK, YCT and the topic banks is covered. One honest caveat: a small set of rare characters (about 129 simplified, 291 traditional) has no stroke data; those print in the handwriting font without the strip. None of them appear in graded word lists.
Close the loop with the mistake book
Practice only counts if the weak characters come back. In the on-screen preview, tap any character row to add it to the mistake book; at the end of the week, one click turns the collected mistakes into a review sheet (tracing plus quiz). It is the difference between writing characters and actually learning them — and it is why practice sheets work better as a radical-family routine than as random copying.

What does “hanzi” mean?
汉字 (hànzì) is the Chinese name for Chinese characters — the logographic writing system shared (with script variants) across Mandarin and other Chinese languages. Each character carries a meaning and a sound.
Can I paste any hanzi into the generator?
Yes. Paste words or full paragraphs; the text is segmented into whole words, and pinyin plus English meanings resolve automatically for 11,000+ common words.
Are all characters' stroke orders shown?
About 6,500 simplified and their traditional counterparts have full step-by-step stroke data. A small number of rare characters print without the stroke strip; none of them occur in HSK/YCT lists.
