What actually switches in Traditional mode
The 简体 / 繁體 toggle at the top of the generator changes four things at once. The characters print in their traditional forms (學習, not 学习). The handwriting font switches to a traditional-style kai ink font, so the model glyphs show proper 繁體 stroke shapes. The stroke-order strip uses traditional stroke data — 學 really is sixteen strokes in the correct sequence. And the pronunciation label becomes zhuyin (ㄅㄆㄇ) by default, matching how children in Taiwan learn to read. You can still choose pinyin if your family uses 繁體 with hanyu pinyin, as many Hong Kong and Malaysian families do.

Weekend schools teaching with 繁體 materials, grandparents in Taipei or Hong Kong, a child in a Cantonese-family immersion program — the common problem is that most online worksheet tools are simplified-first. This one was built dual-track from the start: the word banks (HSK, YCT, topic packs) all render in traditional form, and the dictation quiz prints zhuyin prompts with a traditional answer key. Converting between the two scripts
If you have a simplified word list and need 繁體 paper, just paste the simplified text and flip the toggle — the generator maps each character to its standard traditional form (built on the OpenCC-derived primary mapping). One honest limitation: pasted traditional text in simplified mode is shown as-is rather than converted back, so for 繁體 output start from either script and toggle to 繁體. Stroke-order coverage spans roughly 6,500 traditional characters; a handful of rare ones print without the strip.
FAQ
Does it support zhuyin (bopomofo)?
Yes. In Traditional mode the pronunciation labels default to zhuyin ㄅㄆㄇ, on tracing sheets and as the prompts in the dictation quiz. You can also choose pinyin with traditional characters.
Is the stroke order correct for traditional characters?
Yes. Traditional mode uses a dedicated traditional stroke dataset (about 6,500 characters) and a traditional handwriting font, so both the stroke count and the shapes follow 繁體 conventions.
Can I paste simplified text and get a traditional sheet?
Yes. Paste simplified words and flip the 繁體 toggle — characters convert to their standard traditional forms automatically. (The reverse direction, pasted traditional in simplified mode, displays as-is.)
