The differentiation workflow
Immersion teachers rarely teach one class — they teach three hiding inside one room. The practical trick with a generator: one pasted word list, three printouts. Newer readers get "All tracing" at 16 mm on the 田 grid. The middle band gets a 3:1 trace-to-blank ratio at 13 mm. Strong readers get the dictation quiz of the identical list, so the whole class studies the same vocabulary at three depths — and Friday's quiz is fair to everyone. Each regeneration takes seconds, which matters when planning happens at 10 pm.
Assessment without extra prep
The dictation quiz prints pinyin (or zhuyin) and the English meaning as prompts, empty grids sized per character, and a detachable answer key at the page bottom. For weekly formative checks, print one quiz per student from the current unit list; for self-marking stations, hand out the key separately. Because prompts carry the English gloss, heritage and non-heritage parents can both supervise homework — a small thing that removes a big equity problem in mixed immersion classes.
Leveled lists on tap
When a unit needs supplementary vocabulary, the word bank's graded lists save the hunt: YCT 1–4 for elementary immersion, HSK levels for middle and high school, and eight topic packs for thematic units — all browsable with pinyin and English in the word list library, all one click into a printable sheet.
