What is the best first Chinese phrase for a child to write?

生日快乐 (happy birthday) and 你好 (hello) are the classic starters — every character is common, and both phrases get used immediately. Numbers 一二三四五 are the easiest of all.

Are these phrase guides in Simplified or Traditional Chinese?

The breakdowns and worksheets default to Simplified. Where the Traditional form differs, the guide shows it (for example 生日快乐 → 生日快樂), and the generator's 繁體 toggle prints Traditional sheets.
